Hey y'all!
So after Vince got the nerve up to ask me out, we went to a Bollywood dance class and it was a blast! Definately a work out though... Those Indian dancers are for sure legit!
After the dance class, Vince took me to his apartment, where he made spaghetti for us for dinner. It was delish! There was a group of our singles ward friends that were getting together to go watch "Escape to Witch Mountain" in the dollar theater and we decided to go. (Keep in mind that we are still on our first date. And I do NOT recommend the new remake of this movie. It was awful...)
Well, what was suppposed to be a maybe 2 hour date, ended up being about a 5 hour date. Good sign? I think yes! Moving on... He took me home and I waited for him to ask me out again.
I waited... and waited... and waited some more... and then waited again.... Until finally, a month later, I had had enough! I asked him out. We made plans to go and have dinner after institute at a pizza place called Double Dave's. Dinner was alright, but the best part was the conversation! We just sat and talked in the car for a while after we had eaten, and then went our seperate ways home.
Now keep in mind, whilest I was waiting for Vincent to ask me out again, I was actively trying to get his attention. Flirting to be precise. ;)
After this date Vince and I went on a 3rd date. We toured his work, and played paddle ball at one of the volleyball courts there. We then went back to his apartment and made french toast. I was thinking at this point that I really was starting to become friends with this guy! Which is how its supposed to be right?
The Monday before our next date, there was an fhe activity for our singles ward. It was during the summer, and the plan was to go swimming. So we went to the pool and I flirted my little heart out with Mr. Vincent, and he picked up on my outrageously obvious signals. I was almost literally saying, "hey! I like ya! I'm right here! Make a move PLEASE!!!" Shows you how patient I am...
We made plans for yet ANOTHER date! We went ice-skating at Chapparal Ice, and as you know, it is typically cold in an ice-skating rink. Well, one of the times around the circle, I was skating along, doing my thing, and Vince starts to catch up with me. He takes me by surprise and grabs my hand. I held on. :) We continued to hold hands and ice skate around the rink, whilest flirting and being happy that we had breached the "physical touch" barrier.
Well in Vincent's mind, from that point on we were officially a couple. In my mind, being official meant kissing... So I was waiting, not very patiently, for that kiss to confirm my suspicions about where this relationship was going.
About a week later, we went to see Harry Potter 6 at midnight in the theater. I had been purposefully playing micheal buble songs in the car that dealt with kissing on the way to the movie.
Let me back up a bit... We had had a talk sometime before this point about how I wasn't going to be returning to Snow College that fall. I simply couldn't afford it. This news was a bit of a shocker for Vince. He thought that we would date over the summer, I would go back to school, and that would be that. He now had a decision on his hands. Did he want to continue the relationship or not...?
Ok. Now back to the theater. We had gotten there pretty early. Like a couple of hours early, and we just sat there and talked. It was wonderful! After the movie, on the way home, I played the Micheal Buble song, "It Had Better Be Tonight," in the car. Vince took that as a huge hint. He had made his decision. He kissed me at the doorstep. He was going to continue with the relationship! What a relief! Boy I tell ya...
Well, to make a long story short, (too late) we dated for about 6 months.
Engagement story to come next! :)
