School for Vinchenzo
This past Monday, Vincent started school! He is taking chemistry 2, which is a pre-requisit for organic chemistry. Basically he has a bunch of pre-requisits, for pre-requisits, for more pre-requisits... He won't be done with them until after we have been in Georgia for a few months. So excited for him! It is definitely different however having to ask my husband wether or not he finished his homework...

Change? Remember what happened last time...?
Things are changing in the Methot household. For those of you who don't know, Vince got accepted to attend Life University in Marietta, Georgia. That's right. Georgia. He is going to be studying chiropractic. Yes. My husband wants to be a chiropractor when he grows up. Don't get me wrong, I fully and completely support this decision, and he will have his Electrical Engineering degree to fall back on, but change and I don't get along so well. Here's why.
On April 10, 2010 Vince and I got married! It was the best day of my life! :) I have never been so happy! As some of you know, getting married presents a lot of change. A LOT of change. Said changes, caused me to start having panic attacks 3 months in, and I was clinically diagnosed with anxiety. Thank goodness I have a kind an supportive husband. Did I mention I hate change?
Thankfully, the Lord has blessed us with time to adjust to the idea. We won't be moving until January 2012. Vince will be taking some pre-reqs. here in Austin at Austin Community college this summer and fall, and then we will move to Georgia. The Lord has given me time to adjust to Vince going to school, which will definitely be a change. Once we get out there, Vince will take a couple more pre-reqs, and then start full time into the chiropractic program.
He hopes to study a specific form of chiropractic, called Upper-Cervical. We currently go to an Upper-Cervical chiropractor and that is what sparked Vince's interests.
Upper-Cervical Chiropractic is different because it only deals with your atlas and axis bones at the very top of your spine. Basically the two bones that are at the base of your head and top of your neck. They adjust your atlas bone by tapping it back into place with an adapted dental tool. They do some other adjusting, but the atlas is the main focus.
The reason Vince is so interested in this form of Chiropratic, is that is more successful at curing ailments from anxiety and mental issues, to digestive problems and heart issues. (Upper-Cervical can only cure problems caused by subluxations in the atlas. It is by no means a cure all.) Some one described the difference in chiropractic types this way.
Regular chiropractic is like hitting a baseball and getting to maybe first, or second base. Upper-Cervical Chiropractic is like hitting a home run every time.
And so, our life is changing. For the better, but changing none-the-less.
Wish us luck!

Work work work and did I mention work?
I am a dance teacher. I am paid to teach children to dance. This also means I am paid to choreograph recital pieces for said children.
Keep in mind that I absolutely ADORE my job, but as this is my first year working as a dance teacher, I am beyond intimidated by the daunting task. The studio I work for has been voted "Best of the Best" in the Cedar Park/Leander area for the past two years running. Pressure to perform? You bet your bottom dollar there is!
Side note: I teach 6 classes of varying ages. Coming up with music and choreography for all 6 of those classes is no walk in the park! Luckily, I have been able to finish 5 of the 6 dances.
The one that I am struggling with right now, is my Monday evening class. This class started out with 5 dancers in it. There are now 12 girls of the ages 5-7... Enough said? I think yes... They have trouble paying attention and some of them are very vocal about things. Did I mention there are 12 of them!?!?! It is hard enough to get them to listen to me, let alone remember choreography. The recital is in just over a month, and I still have 45 seconds to choreograph. Stressed? Me? Did you really just ask that question?!
On the upside, I pretty much know what I want them to do for those last 45 seconds. Now its just getting them to hold still, and learn, then do. They get costumes today, which means they should be more eager to dance.
Fingers crossed!
